The Effects of Therapeutic Riding on Activities of Daily Living and Gross Motor Functions of Children with Cerebral Palsy

Abstract
The purpose of this study is to verify the effects of therapeutic riding on activities of daily living and gross motor functions of children with cerebral palsy. The subjects are 4 children with cerebral palsy. For evaluation of activities of daily living and gross motor functions, the Portage Guide and the Gross Motor Function Measure(GMFM) were used. The comparison of variations between the pre-post interventions and Multiple baseline across subjects design, one of the single-subject experimental research designs were used in this study. The results of this study are as follows: first, therapeutic riding have a positive effects on motors and cognition functions of children with cerebral palsy. Second, therapeutic riding have a positive effects on lie and eversion category in gross motor functions of children with cerebral palsy.
